'Poison used to kill fishes in Jiri river'

Imphal, January 28 2021:
Officials of Forest Department claimed that some miscreants are using poison to catch fishes in Jiri River after finding cans containing poison used for the said purpose.
As per a statement from Jiribam Forest Division, the forest offcials found dead fishes floating in Jiri river in Boroikhal area which was killed by using poison.
Regarding this the officials visited and inspected the site and also conducted awareness programmes for the locals on the importance of using traditional methods of catching fish.
