Imphal, January 13 2016:
Manipur Cycle Club (MCC) has urged the
transport department and the government to take pro-active steps in
providing separate lanes for cyclists.
MCC was invited to organize
a "Cyclothon" today where cyclists go around Imphal city to spread
awareness on cycling and safety to mark the fourth day of 27th Road
Safety Week 2016, but were left disappointed at the way the department
and Government organized the event where no separate lanes
were provided for cyclists to undertake the Cyclothon event, according
to a statement issued by the president of MCC.
