DGAR felicitates police officers

During a special ceremony held
at HQ IGAR (South) in
Mantripukhri, DGAR
felicitated Assam Rifles and
police personnel for their
contribution and achievements
which brought acclaims to
Assam Rifles force and the
State as well.
During the ceremony,
Kamei Angam Romanus, SP,
Imphal East and Dr
Sarangthem Ibomcha Singh,
Addl SP, Imphal West district
were awarded with DGAR
Commendation Card personally
by DG Assam Rifles Lt
Gen HJS Sachdev, AVSM,
SM yesterday, informed a
statement issued by the PRO
of IGAR (S).
As head of operations,
Angam has ensured seamless
synergy during conduct of
joint operations with Assam
Rifles.
He has apprehended 62
hard core militants and recovered
large number of warlike
stores, including three IEDs
during joint operations with
Assam Rifles, it said.
Kamei Angam Romanus
has also ensured peace and
stability in a politically sensitive
and highly volatile Imphal
East district including
denotified areas of Imphal
town, it added.
Dr Sarangthem Ibomcha
Singh, Addl Supdt of Police,
a recipient of police medal for
gallantry and Chief Minister's
Gallantry award earlier is a
highly skilled and experienced
CI operative.
During his tenure
in Thoubal district as head
of operations, he was instrumental
in establishing an
effective intelligence network
and has worked in synergy
with several Assam Rifles'
battalions.
He has been instrumental
in various
apprehensions and seizure of
arms and ammunition, thereby
targeting nefarious designs of
insurgent groups and thus saving
precious human lives, the
PRO statement said.
In recognition of their courageous
actions, exemplary
leadership, motivation,
achievement and spirit, Kamei
Angam Romanus, SP, Imphal
East and Dr Sarangthem
Ibomcha Singh, Addl SP, IW
were awarded with DGAR
Commendation Card to further
boost their moral and recognize
their valuable
contribution, it added.
