Imphal, January 13 2016:
ADC Tamenglong Finance
Committee Chairman G Apou-
khui has apprised Chief Minis-
ter Okram Ibobi about various
infrastructure and manpower
inadequacies in Nungba area.
In a memorandum submit-
ted to the Chief Minister, the
Chairman said that CHC
Nungba has only 3-4 doctors
although the medical facility
requires 7-10 doctors.
Saying that people have
been facing lots of inconven-
iences as only one doctor is
present at the CHC most of
the time, the Chairman said
that the doctors come to the
medical facility on a rotational
basis.
Poor villagers who could
not afford to travel to Imphal
are suffering silently and
many patients had breathed
their last without getting nec-
essary treatment, he said.
The medical centre neither
has adequate manpower nor
free medicines, the Chairman
said.
He also said that the vil-
lagers have been facing lots
of problems in getting impor-
tant documents as the office
of SDO remains locked most
of the time.
The Chairman alleged that
the SDO rarely comes to the
office and a UDC runs his
office.
Demanding action against
the officer, G Apoukhui ask-
ed the Chief Minister to de-
clare through media that a li-
aison/parallel office of SDO
Nungba has been opened at
Imphal if the Government is
unable to direct the SDO to
station himself at Nungba.
The Chairman also demanded the Chief Minister to take necessary
steps to provide adequate drinking water to the denizens of Nungba
and revamp Khongshang-Tamenglong road at the earliest.
