Training on technological interventions held

A three days training programme on technological interventions for integrated indigenous farming systems was organized under NEC-ICAR Project "Demonstration through animal based integrated indigenous farming system for sustained livelihood in and around Khoupam area of Tamenglong district'' by ICAR-KVK Tupul Tamenglong in collaboration with Goodwill Group for Rural & Urban Development at Noney and Dwithanjang village Tamenglong from September 6 to 8.Good will Group secretary Joshua Dangmei explained the implementation process of NEC-ICAR project for improving livelihood of tribal and valley farmers.
PC KVK Tamenglong Dr PK Saraswat stated that livestock based traditional and indigenous farming systems of NEH region have high potential for income generation provided they are technologically driven by the farmers.
He informed that KVK Tupul has adopted Khoupam valley farming area to provide the knowledge and material technology support in a time framed manner.
Knowledge technology is must to make the farmers more competent in the use of material technology.
Therefore, Technological Interventions developed by ICAR Umiam need to be adopted in divers farm environment to achieve the desired level of benefit along with agro-ecosystem conservation, he observed.
