Save Irom Sharmila Campaign to protest Ramban Massacre

Save Sharmila Solidarity Campaign along with some progressive groups has called for a demonstration on Sunday July 21 to protest against the Ramban Massacre by BSF that claimed 6 lives and injured 44 others.
According to a statement, the protest will be in New Delhi on Sunday, 11 AM at Jantar Mantar.
Save Sharmila Solidarity Campaign is a nation-wide campaign in support of Irom Sharmila and for the repeal of the draconian law of AFSPA.
For two years, it has been working to spread awareness, mobilise support and generate political pressure to repeal the law.
It is an umbrella of many civil society organisations.
For this protest, other progressive groups namely Mission Bhartiyam, AISA, Campus Front of India among others have also joined.
The organisations will demand the repeal of AFSPA, removal of all military forces from all the civilian areas, to investigate all crimes committed under it, a speedy inquiry within a given time frame, to prosecute the guilty persons, compensation to the victims as the primary and just initiatives that must be taken to improve the situation in J&K, the statement said.
