Lamka, December 23 2014:
The KSO Churachandpur has today expressed displeasure over the twist and turns of events that reportedly denied Gandhi Memorial High School the opportunity to be upgraded to the status of a Higher Secondary School despite the assurance given by the Education Minister in his last visit to the school.
A statement issued by the KSO said that it took the initiative to upgrade the school taking into account the educational needs of the children.
The demand was subsequently endorsed by the circle MLA TN Haokip.
The Minister himself assured the students delegation on Feb 10, 2014, it claimed.
'Sadly, but surprisingly fact of the matter today is other differently located high schools with some poor strength did make their entry with motivated political bargaining or otherwise,' it added while demanding that the explanation be made public within 10 days.
It further threatened to launch agitations if they fail to obtain a satisfactory explanation.
