The Manipur Hill Areas Autonomous District Councils MDCs/ex-MDCs Welfare Association has appealed to the Chief Minister to restore Autonomous District Council election with financial and administrative independence.
In an ultimatum submitted to the Chief Minister, the association also urged for extension of pension benefit to the ex-MDCs, regularization of tribal part time college lecturers and filling up of backlog college lecturers (ST) and appointment of ST backlog posts under MDS and MIT.
Further demanding opening of Manipur Hill University, the association warned that indefinite blockade will be launched in all the hill districts including NH 39 and NH 53 in case the demands are not addressed by May 30.
