Imphal, November 25:
An elderly man, identified as Doukholun (50) of Ponlien village within Henglep sub division died last night after he was reportedly hit by a bomb shrapnel which exploded when he touched it near Khotuh village along Tipaimukh Road, reports bur correspondent.
It said that the deceased was going to Phaisat village from Lamka last night with some friends and near Khotuh village, they took rest and lighted a fire.
The deceased went to collect some wood for fire.
His friends then heard a loud explosion and found the deceased bleeding from a wound on the fight side of the waist, it said.
Post mortem was conducted at the District Hospital and the body was handed over to the family members.
