State Agriculture Department in collaboration with Central Agricultural University and Indian Council for Agricultural Research, Manipur Centre today concluded a three-day national seminar on Soil Health and Food Security at Central Agricultural University.
Agriculture Minister N Loken, Agriculture Commissioner Lekhogen Haokip and Dean of Agriculture College N Iboton graced the closing function as chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.
Sensing the threat of decreasing of agricultural land and increasing number of population, N Loken emphasised on the need of production by putting scientific technics and methods in agriculture during his address.
He also mentioned on how agriculture plays a major role in boosting the economy of a State or country.
N Iboton in his presidential speech devled into how wrong means of farming reduces the fertility of soil.
