Voicing strong objection against the state Government's reported move to acquire an additional area of 200 acre as a part of the Manipur University expansion plan, the Phumlou Konjin Loukol and Heibokching Land Protection Committee, langthabal has warned of resorting to violent form of agitation in case the Government persist with the land acquisition move.
Describing the Government's move as deliberate attempt to wipe out langthabal Chingthak, Chingkha and langthabal Khoupum villages mostly inhabited by the Kabui community, the Committee asked State authorities to work sensibly rather than test tolerance of the people who are prepared to protect their land at any cost.
One pulled up: AMADA in its ongoing drive against intoxicants, pulled up one Sorokhaibam (O) Achoubi Devi w/o S Bira Singh of Khurai Nandeibam Leikai with 52 litre of liquor.
