Imphal, March 14:
Cracking the whip against tarrif defaulters, the Electricity Department has so far disconnected the lines of 21 consumers for failing to pay their dues.
The drive started on February 23 this year and some of the defaulters owed bill of over Rs 2 lakhs.
In a statement, the SE of Electrical Circle (No I) said that reconnection of the consumers shall be done as per the norms and conditions of the declaration signed between them and the consumers, or else legal action will be taken up.
The SE further said that legal action has been initiated against 13 individuals for resorting to illegal connection.
