Imphal, March 14:
Taking serious note of the report about offering and accepting bribe to the tune of Rs 3 lakhs to Rs 15 lakhs for appointment of SIs, Jemadars and Constables in the Manipur Police Department, the proscribed KCP (MC) has launched an investigation into the allegations.
A statement issued by the outfit's military affairs secretary Lanheiba Meitei asserted that Rs 3 lakhs to Rs 15 lakhs are being offered and accepted in the ongoing recruitment drive of 64 posts of SIs, 25 posts of Jemadars and 2573 posts of Constables as bribes.
All these corrupt practices will be unearthed soon, Lanheiba stated.
While dismissing the report about the outfit demanding its quota in the appointment of nurses and grade IV employees in the RIMS, Lanheiba claimed that its Amotpa Sengdokpa drive has started yielding positive results.
Observing that there have been 11 DGPs since 1988 till date in the persons of VP Kapoor, AD Liddle, MD Sharma, Trinath Sharma, DS Grewal, L Jugeshwar Singh, AA Siddique, S Bimolchandra, AK Parashar and Y Joykumar.
During the tenures of all these DGPs before Y Joykumar there have been no police recruitment drive of such magnitude as is done now.
Even though this recruitment drive should provide a good employment opportunity to the unemployed and educated youth of the State whose number has now crossed 6 lakhs, on the other hand due to rampant corruption in the State, the poor youth have been denied any chance to compete for such jobs, Lanheiba noted.
Until and unless the culture of favouring the rich and powerful and subduing the poor and underprivileged is wiped out, the hopes and aspiration of poor families and their children will never be fulfilled.
For this injustice in the soceity, Chief Minister O Ibobi and DGP Y Joykumar should be mainly held responsible, the outfit asserted.
Denying any connection with the reported demand for quota during appointment in RIMS, Lanheiba clarified that the outfit's only instruction was to conduct the recruitment process in a proper manner.
Disclosing that the ACC team of the outfit is monitoring the recruitment procedure, Lanheiba warned that Director L Fimate and Superintendent Dr L Mohon will be awarded capital punishment in case any foul play is detected in the recruitment process.
Confiding that the outfit had attempted to attack the Director twice, Lanheiba stated that the outfit may forgive the Director if things are done in the proper manner.
The KCP (MC) also appealed to all to help in its Amotpa Sengdokpa drive.
It further appealed to inform the party on any misdeed committed by any authority through its e-mail address [email protected].
