Troops of 15 Assam Rifles posted at Mao led by its CO Colonel Sanjeev Shourie and Major VK Gupta rescued and rendered first aid to 37 bus passengers when the vehicle met with an accident at a spot in between Maram and Makhan Centre on NH-39 today at about 2.20 pm.
Twenty six passengers including the driver were given first aid by the Assam Rifles medical personnel led by doctor VK Gupta.
Four of them sustained head injuries while another two suffered suspected dislocation of the shoulder.
The six have been taken to Imphal by some private vehicles that passed along the highway today, while the rest have been given shelter and medical treatment at the AR hospital.
The passengers were on their way to Imphal from Arunachal Pradesh.
