An angry group of people stormed a police station in Nagaland's Wokha district and beat to death two persons, official sources today said.
A frenzied mob of about 800 villagers forcibly entered a police station on Tuesday and severely assaulted two persons allegedly taking refuge under police cover after they were accused of being responsible for the death of a youth the same day, the spurces said.
The youth was assaulted by the two accused and their henchmen on January five but he succumbed to injuries at a hospital on Tuesday, inciting tension in Wokha town.
Two persons, who were beaten to death at police station, hailed from south Assam's Karimganj district and were running shops at Wokha.
The villagers of the slain Naga youth held the duo responsible for the death of the youth.
