Zeliangrong Youth Front (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) has appealed to authorities concerned not to make any payment to the contractors/ work agencies involved in repairing the Tamei-Tenning road as they have failed to execute the works assigned to them.
Stating that Zeliangrong areas are not goldmine or places for unscrupulous contractors and Govt officials to make easy money, ZYF said that an inquiry should be jointly conducted by ZYF and an investigating agency preferably CBI before any payment is made to the contractors.
It further stated that out of the Rs 13 crores earmarked by the NEC for repairing the Tamei-Tenning road a total sum of Rs 8 crores have already been withdrawn by the contractors without executing any work on the said route.
Meanwhile, Zeliangrong Union (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) members in a meeting held at Tamenglong dist on Jan 13 has appealed to all the DCs, ZEOs, CEO and school inspectors to take up appropriate actions against all teachers who are abstaining from their duties by putting up substitute teachers in Govt Schools.
