Imphal, January 20 2017:
State Forest Department Wild Life wing and lBCN along with the clubs and organisations around Loktak area are going to launch a massive count of migratory birds coming to the lake from 5 am tomorrow.
According to the RK Birjit (IBCN State Coordinator), around 120 volunteers will participate in the operation which aims to cover around 50 specific areas of the lake where the winter migratory birds usually converge.
"The water level of the lake has risen quite a bit from previous year so there is high possibility that birds which prefer low water level areas may be absent or rare this year", he said.
