Imphal, August 12:
The Bishnupur Local council of Communist Party of India demanded lifting of Disturbed Area Status from the entire State of Manipur and withdraw Armed Forces Special Powers Act 1958 within twenty four hours.
A meeting of the Council besides resolving to demand scrapping of black laws also urged the Government to identify those Assam Rifles personnel involved in the custodial killing of Thangjam Manorama Devi and punitive action the guilty Assam Rifles personnel.
