Sangai rescued

Imphal, February 15 2013:
One Sangai which was found trapped in a net has been rescued by some staff of Keibul Lamjao National Park.
Notably, two poachers were caught red-handed recently while they were dressing a Sangai after killing the rare and State animal inside Keibul Lamjao National Park.
Forest Department officials informed that the Sangai rescued today was wounded on a leg.

Forest Department has already written to Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Department to depute a specialist veterinary doctor for treatment of the wounded animal.
Apart from observing the wounded Sangai, Thanga AC MLA T Mangibabu made an assessment of the Keibul Lamjao National Park today.
