Strongly condemmning the prolonged detention of two truck drivers who have been abducted by cadres of Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA) on a ransom demand of Rs 12 lakhs, drivers and transporters have threatened to cease service if the two drivers are not released immediately.
The truck two drivers, Muhammad Khan (driver of Tata truck MN05/2661) of Oinam Sawombung and Ngangbam Inaobi (driver of Tata truck MN05/2007) of Soibam Leikai were abducted by the KRA cadres from Keithelmanbi area on the morning of June 29.The two truck drivers were carrying goods meant for M/S Freight Transport Agency and Transkying Agency, both located at Thangal Bazar when they were abducted.
Even though the whereabouts of the two truck drivers were not known till date, the loaded trucks are being kept at Kangpokpi Police Station.
Worried about the well-being of the abducted driver, All Manipur Drivers Welfare Association today submitted a representation to the Transporters and Drivers Council for taking up necessary steps for safe release of the duo.
