Kuki Movement for Human Rights has strongly condemned the killing of Pastor Jamkholet Khongsai of Saichang village and demanded punishment of Assam Rifles personnel involved in the killing according to the law of the land.
Bullet-ridden body of Jamkholet was found buried in the nearby jungle after he had gone to his field on July 8.In a representation submitted to the Chief Minister, the rights� body also appealed to the Government for giving life-long pension to the bereaved wife and five children left behind by the Pastor.
Jamkholet was the sole breadwinner of the family, the representation noted.

Kuki Students� Organisation (KSO), General Headquarters has strongly condemned the barbaric killing of Pastor Jamkholet Khongsai by 28 Assam Rifles personnel.
The thoughtless and barbaric killing of the Pastor gave a great shock to the local Church in particular and it is a great humiliating act against the Christian community and all faiths in general, information and publicity secretary of KSO Minelen Haokip stated in a release.
Killing an victimising innocent people on the pretext of counter insurgency is more than an act of extremism that would lead to a lost of confidence to the security personnel, he noted, while putting pressure on the authorities concerned for booking the culprits and giving befitting punishment as per the law of the land.
Further, KSO has announced its decision of extending full moral support to the 48-hour general strike being called by Manipur Forward Youth Front against extrajudicial killing by security personnel.
