Sit-ins against alleged custodial killings continue

Jiribam, September 13 2018:
JAC Jiribam has organised a sit-in against the alleged "murder" of Gurumayum Jiteswar Sharma alias Gypsy, Th Satish, Thounaojam Prem, RK Ranel and Phijam Naobi allegedly by the 3 CISU of Indian Army.
The sit-in staged in front of the Manipur Students' Federation (MSF) District Committee's office, Jiribam demanded the withdrawal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act 1958.Speaking to media persons at the sit-in, Maipaksana of JAC said that the protest was held demanding the Government of India and law of the land to award stringent punishment to the army personnel involved in the alleged custodial killings.
Terming the AFSPA act outdated and draconian, he identified it as the root cause of all the killings and torture of innocent civilians by the security forces.
It may be mentioned that JAC against the alleged extra Judicial killings, in association with Committee on Human Rights (COHR) Manipur, AMUCO and other organisations have been staging relay protests across the State since August 5 .
