Senapati, September 13 2018:
Citing poor work progress, Oklong Village Authority, Senapati has asked the Minister PHED Losii Dikho to "block" 3rd and final instalment of grants amounting to Rs 118.38 lakh under NEC to the concerned construction agency regarding Composite Water Supply Scheme at Oklong in Senapati district.
Secretary of Oklong Village Authority, Moses in his letter to the Minister PHED informed that the concerned construction agency has constructed one main tank at the village.
However, it alleged that this is the only work seen and witnessed by the villagers.
The village authority continued that there are three sources of water which will supply water to the main tank at the village.
But, there is no work on the site of the water sources, it alleged.
The main tank will supply water to Oklong Maryram and Oklong Nepali, informed the village authority and continued to allege that there is no work till now regarding the required supply system.
Questioning the work of the composite water supply scheme, the village authority asked how the department/authority concerned and implementing agency are going to supply water from the sources to the main tank at Oklong village and again supply water further to Oklong Maryram and Oklong Nepali since there are no work at present to carry out the tasks.
Strongly condemning the authority concerned, the village authority urged the Minister to "block" all bills relating to the scheme "until and unless" the construction works are fully implemented in accordance with the guidelines of the concerned authority/department.
