Throwing its weight behind the residents of Lei-Ingkhol and their opposition to the construction of Capitol Project by evicting the local population, the Chingmeirong branch of the All Manipur Students' Union today expressed its heartfelt sorrow and anguish over the manner in which the people were lathi charged by the police.
Ten people including two students were picked up by the police for trying to enforce the bandh today, said AMSU and said that if the arrested persons are not released within 24 hours, AMSU will be constrained to take up a number of agitation in co-operation with students and other organisations.
