IED found on NH-2, neutralised

Imphal, January 24 2013:
Troops of 18 SIKH under 9 Sector HQ IGAR (South) recovered an IED from Sangaiprou area along the NH-02 (Tiddim Road) at around 6.50 am today.
The IED was found lying in a polythene bag with wires jutting out by a foot patrolling party of 18 Sikhs.
The Explosive Detector Dog confirmed the suspected package to be an IED.
Accordingly, Singjamei Police Station was informed immediately and a bomb disposal team of Imphal West district police was called in to neutralize the IED.
