Senapati, January 24 2013:
Even as Kuki State Demand Committee (KSDC) sponsored 'public curfew' has begun from 5 pm today demanding commencement of political dialogue with Kuki militant outfits, United Naga Council (UNC) has launched counter agitation not to the public curfew of KSDC in 'Naga areas' .
UNC has made it clear that any misunderstanding that crops up during the public curfew should be held responsible by KSDC and its supporters.
"We respect every community.
The Nagas respect every ethnic group and their aspirations.
However, political aspiration based on artificiality will not serve any good except to bring confusion among the people," UNC stated.
According to UNC, some sections of the people have been recalling time and again on the 'so called Kuki rebellion' of 1917-19 and the 1990s ethnic cauldron to create a kind of artificial history and from there a political aspiration is to be based.
"Such thing will not work," asserted UNC.
Meanwhile, the KSDC sponsored public blockade has begun this evening in
Kuki inhabited areas.
