ZUF extends Gaan-Ngai greetings

Imphal, December 31 2011:
The Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) has sent out its greetings to the people of Manipur, Assam and Nagaland with the coming of Chakan Gaan-Ngai, the indigenous festival of the Zeliangrong community which falls in the early part of January.
The ZUF said the Chakan Gaan Ngai is a festival of of lights which signifies the victory over evils with the discovery of sacred fire.
The ZUF said it is the post harvest festival for the Zeliangrong community heralding prosperity.
