Imphal, January 02 2019:
Personnel of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) seized 27,000 WY tablets from a vehicle travelling from Moreh to Imphal at around 7 am today.
Based on a special input from a reliable source, a team of Khudengthabi post stopped a silver coloured Maruti 800, bearing registration no MN 02B 3497 for checking, said a statement of the AR and added that 135 blue coloured packets containing 27,000 tablets, suspected to be WY tablets weighing 2.802 kg were found hidden inside the chassis fold of a vehicle, amounting to Rs 81 lakh.
Md Feroz (40 yrs), S/o Md Alimudin of Muslim Nagar Mayai Leikai, Pumkot Minzang, Churachandpur along with the seized items have been handed to the authority after thorough checking of the vehicle, added the statement.
