Five bombs recovered from different places including deposited in the house of individuals were disposed off by the Bishnupur police today near Chothe village.
One of the hand grenades was a Chinese made one while rest four were Indian made.
The Chinese made one was retrieved from the house of assistant teacher Soibam Ibohal of Bishnupur Higher Secondary School last night at about 7.20 pm.
Decrying the bomb threat at the house of the assistant teacher, a sit-in protest organised by the Youth Welfare Organisation, Bishnupur was staged at Bishnupur Junior High School ground.
The bomb was placed in connection with monetary demand to the teacher.
Protestors taking part in the protest suspected that the hand grenade was deposited by the activists of the KCP (MC) demanding Rs 5 lakh from the teacher in the last week of February last.
While defusing the bomb, a warning letter of the group was also found.
The rest four bombs were seized from the house of individual Old Cachar road on the evening of May 16 last which was found concealed underneath the earth.
