Imphal, May 25 2010:
The Manipur University Tribal Students' Union (MUTSU) today urged the State government to complete the works for establishing Indira Gandhi National Tribal University (IGNTU)-Manipur regional campus at the earliest.
The tribal students' body said that the state government has 'failed to complete the process of the land acquisition till date even after inaugurating the regional campus for Manipur tribal university'.
The negligence on the part of the Manipur government has given setbacks to the developmental work and academic commencement to introduce master courses from the academic session of 2010-2011, pointed out MUTSU.
"On behalf of the tribal students' community in particular and the whole tribal populace in the state, MUTSU implored for urgent consideration and prompt action for completion of process and works of Indira Gandhi National Tribal University-Manipur regional campus", appealed the tribal students' body.
