Churachandpur, August 19 2017:
The All Manipur Border Area Development Association (AMBADA) along with headmen/ chiefs of Ukhrul, Kamjong, Chandel, Tengnoupal, Churachandpur and Pherzawl held a meeting on August 18 in connection with the implementation of BADP in the State .
The meeting opposed the implementation of Border Area Development Programme as agreed by Manipur State Cabinet on July 14 at Churachandpur district and warned to launch various forms of agitation if decision is not rolled back on or before August 24 .
It also urged the State Government for implementation of Centre guideline .
The meeting further resolved that all border area chiefs/ headmen would not accept or welcome any BADP works unless the matter is solved amicably and further warned individuals/contractors/ agencies to avoid proposal and tendering of DRDA Planning Department which are under the jurisdiction of AMBADA covered areas unless the State Government fulfils the demands .
It also threatened not to support any Central and State programme regarding border issue if their grievances are not addressed.
