Sainik School Imphal celebrated the 64th Independence Day in the school premises with enthusiasm and fervour.
Group Captain Surinder Singh, Principal of the school, unfurled the national tri-colour followed by a pledge taking ceremony by the cadets.
A press release issued by PIB (DW) stated that the principal conveyed his heartfelt greetings to cadets, staff members and their families.
In his address, he advised the cadets to work together to safeguard the integrity of the country.
He asked them to rise above caste, creed and religion and to work for progress of the country.
Sweets distributions and a Bara-Khana were organized to mark the festive mood.
Patriotic movies were also screened at the school Kangla Hall.
Two contingents consisting of 85 cadets of the school's NCC Coy participated in the parade organized by the State Government at Imphal.
