State bids farewell

Imphal, August 29 2014 :
After Governor VK Duggal tendered his resignation letter to President Pranab Mukherjee yesterday, the State Government bade farewell to VK Duggal at a formal function held at Raj Bhavan this afternoon.
The farewell function was attended by Chief Minister O Ibobi, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, Ministers and MLAs.
A number of top ranking civil and police officials were also present at the function.

Speaking at the occasion, Chief Minister O Ibobi hailed the achievements, contributions and political wisdom shown by VK Duggal during his stint as the Governor of Manipur.
VK Duggal said that he was grateful to the Government, all political parties and the people of Manipur for treating him with great love, affection and respect.
He also wished Manipur the very best in future.
The function culminated with exchange of gifts.
VK Duggal would leave Manipur on August 31 .
