Stricter norms in place for repoll

Each and every voter coming to cast votes during the March 4 re-poll would be frisked by security personnel and even polling agents would be identified first before they are let into polling stations.
These new measures have been taken up by the Election Commission of India in view of the massive proxy votings detected during the last round of polling, and also to ensure that the re-poll is held in a free and fair manner.
It is also reported that all necessary security measures have been put in place.
Till now, the ECI has sanctioned 45 companies of central paramilitary forces for the re-poll and they would arrive at Imphal tomorrow.
They would leave for their respective polling stations together with polling officials tomorrow itself.
Arrangements have been made for deployment of 21 companies of CPMF in Senapati district, 16 companies of CPMF in Chandel district, one each in Ukhrul district and Churachandpur and six companies in Tamenglong district.
In addition to the central paramilitary forces, 20 companies of State forces would also deployed for the re-poll.
Meanwhile, CEO PC Lawmkunga informed that all preparation have been made for counting of votes on March 6 .
Votes would be counted in 18 counting halls in all district headquarters and two ADCs.
The process of counting votes would be monitored using CCTV cameras and the process would be webcasted live.
