129 Indian labourers from Myanmar return home

Moreh, August 19 2020:
The labourers of Yagyi-Kalewa road construction in Myanmar who were stranded in the country ever since the imposition of lockdown, finally returned home to India today.
The 129 labourers who were engaged in the construction work of the Yagyi-Kalewa road in Myanmar undertaken by India, were allowed to return back today after they were screened by the medical team at the Moreh Integrated Check Post and their documents were verified by concern authority.

It is reported that the labourers decided to come home after work was halted due to heavy rainfall.
They are currently accommodated at the quarantine centre set up in Eklaviya Model Residential School, Moreh.
Out of the 129, 38 from Jharkhand, 21 from West Bengal and 4 from Bihar, total of 63, will leave Moreh tomorrow while the remaining 66 will stay back.
Today's programme was attended by Senior Immigration Officer Krishna Anand, ICP manager Robin Gangte, ASP (LO) Sangboi Gangte and 43 Assam Rifles personnel.
