Imphal, November 11:
The rally hunger strike undertaken by All Manipur Adhoc Employees Union to protest the resolution of the Government to conduct 'open DPC' has completed 16 days today.
A statement issued by the Association remarked that such resolution amounted to an open invitation for more intense agitations.
The State Govt's decision to abide by the ruling of the Supreme Court only in this case was an act of discrimination as many adhoc employees of Health, Education and various other departments were regularised earlier by formulating State policies to conduct 'special DPC', the statement asserted.
This policy to sideline adhoc employees of 5-15 years has been motivated by their dirty politics to exercise nepotism and favouritism, it contended.
Wakat Meepham: The Manipur State Pensioners' Union, pressing for their charter of demands, had staged 19th Wakat Meepham today.
In a statement issued by the Union, it deplored the callous and irresponsible attitude of the SPF Govt and lamented the treatment of aged pensioners.
The statement mentioned the increment of D R upto 69-71 pc in the neighbouring States.
