The winter session of the Manipur Legislative Assembly will begin from December 9 and it is likely to be held for five days.
The State Cabinet took a decision to this effect today.
A meeting of the Cabinet held with Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh in the chair this morning proposed holding the winter session of the State Assembly for five days beginning from December 9.A final decision on duration of the session would be, however, taken by the Business Advisory Committee.
The meeting also discussed the Bills to be tabled from the side of the Government during the Assembly session.
Besides deliberating on commencing construction work of the Assembly building complex at Chingmeirong ahead of the scheduled visit of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to Manipur sometime in the last week of this month, the Cabinet approved sanctioning Rs 1.02 crores for Civil and Allied works.
It was also decided to discuss the matters related to construction of Assembly building along with High Court and Civil Secretariat in greater details in the next Cabinet sitting.
