Ambulance launched

Imphal, June 25 2015 :
An ambulance and mortuary van were launched today apart from distributing 100 wheelchairs, 50 walking sticks, 150 hearing aids and 50 clutches to selected differently able persons today at Kuki Inn here.
The gathering was organised by Tribal Affairs, Hills and Scheduled Caste (TAH&SC) Development Department where Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, Parliamentary Secretary (TAH&SC/ST) Victor Keishing and TAH&SC/ST Director Minliangthang Vaiphei were seated on the dais as chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.

Speaking at the gathering, Gaikhangam claimed that TAH&SC/ST Department has been working for the welfare of SC/ST people despite limited resources.
The ambulance and mortuary van launched today would be of great help to people residing at remote areas of the hill districts.
Even if all the modern medical equipment cannot be fitted in the ambulance launched, basic equipment would be fitted so that it can respond to emergency situations.
The Deputy Chief Minister also acknowledged the dedication of mortuary van driver Guno by presenting him a monetary reward of Rs 50,000 .
Driver Guno has been taking dead bodies to many remote areas of hill districts since the past many years.
Victor Keishing too spoke at the gathering.
