NE boys at receiving end in Delhi

When Ngaranthing returned home from work on September 10, he was attack by local boys.
Hailing from Manipur and working at a BPO center, Ngaranthing reached home at Safdarjung enclave in South Delhi around 10.30 pm.
He was nearing his rented house when he was attacked by some local goons.
Ngaranthing then ran in and came out with his brother who was staying with him and confronted the local boys who were still there and numbering about 4 and reportedly drunk.
Ngaranthing was hit with a brick on his head and sustained injuries.
By this time other boys from Manipur and other North East States too began to gather as did the local 'mainlanders' .
For sometime 'group fight' took place between the North East (Manipur) boys and the locals (mainlanders) .
All the boys were taken to hospital for treatment and later to the police station.
An FIR has been lodged against the local boys.

Dissatisfied, several youth took out a demonstration in front of Sarojini Nagar police station today afternoon demanding suspension of the police personnel.
Leiyaza Hushu Wunga, who followed up the case and is one of the main witnesses informed that one of the police personnel on arrival at the incident site told the locals to "beat them up them ( North East people)" .
He reported that at the Police Station the ASI (investigating officer) kept investigating and inquiring the matter with the culprits (the locals) .
But when the victim, Ngaranthing began to speak up the Police Officer slapped him.
"We are gathered here as we want the two police personnel, one at the place of occurance and the ASI at the police station, suspended for harassment and physical assault and a case be registered with an FIR " said Laiyaza.
A letter demanding the suspension of the said police personnel was submitted to the Delhi Police Commissioner.
At the time of reporting, the youths were assured by the SHO of Sarojini Nagar police station that the matter will be taken up within the next 2 days.
