Five UG cadres, one foreigner held

In all five underground activists and a female foreign national have been rounded up by security forces from various places in the past 48 hours.
A combined team of Thoubal district police commandos and troops of 28 Assam Rifles arrested a KCP (MC) cadre namely Moirangthem Chaoba Singh alias james (31) s/o M Achou Singh of Langathel Mamang Leikai from Tangjeng area at around 7.45 am today, said a statement issued by SP (Thoubal) K Jayanta Singh.
Imphal West district police commandos accounted for arrest of the two other UG activists, whom a statement issued by SSP (IW) L Kailun, identified as Thokchom Bheigya Singh (24) s/o (L) Th Shyamkumar Singh of Sagolband Sayang Pukhrimapal and Salam Rakesh Singh alias Tombi (28) s/o S Ranjit Singh of Sagolband Sayang Kurao makhong.
Both said to be active members of KCP (MC) Tamnganba Meetei group, Bheigya was reportedly netted at around 4 am today from Sagolband Sayang while Rakesh was hauled up from his residence about 20 minutes later during follow-up action by the police commandos.
It is informed that Bheigya used to work under the command of one Rakesh and was assigned to serve demand letters to various Govt officers, businessmen, etc.
One demand letter has been recovered from his possession, the SSP added.
In another incident, Bishnupur district police commandos arrested two hardcore cadres of KCP (MC) Taibanganba group from Wangoo Sandangkhong area at around 5 am yesterday.
They have been identified as Thongam Romen Singh (25) s/o late Babu of Wangoo Sandangkhong Mayai Leikai and Lourembam Roben Singh alias Nanao (26) s/o Deben of the same locality.
On interrogation, the duo revealed that they were involved in hurling of petrol bomb at the residence of one Sunil of Ningthoukhong Kha Mamang Leikai, Ward No 7 for extortion, said a press release issued by Bishnupur SP .
Meanwhile, PRO IGAR (S) in a release informed that troops of 29 AR of Sector along with lady police apprehended a Myanmar national identified as Nurjaha (25) d/o Fazar Ahmed of Mondu, Bujidong, Arakant (Myanmar) from Sita Track junction on September 13 .
Conveying that Nurjaha was pulled up while travelling towards in a Maruti Van (MN5A/2674), the release said along with Indian currency Rs 8150 recovered from her the arrested person has been handed over Tengnoupal police station.
