Devotees celebrate Jagannath Rath Yatra

As celebrated across the country, Kang festival (Rath Yatra) was celebrated at districts across the State today.
Organised by Iskcon, Moreh and Gorkha Samaj, the Kangchingba (Jagni Rath Yatra) began from Iskcon Mandir at Moreh Ward No 6 and went through several localities of Moreh.
Worshippers of Lord Jagannath took part in the religious procession.
People of Jiribam district also celebrated Kang festival by pulling traditional chariots in their respective villages, today.
Kalinagar, Dibong, Chindong and several other Leikais of the district celebrated the festival with much fanfare and gaiety.

The Rath Yatra was also celebrated at Thoubal, Kakching, Bishnupur and other districts.
People of all ages including children pulled chariots of Jagannath and sought blessings.
Jagannath Rath Yatra festival is dedicated to Lord Jagannath (Lord Krishna), his sister Goddess Subhadra and his elder brother Lord Balabhadra or Balaram.
Jagannath Rath Yatra is widely celebrated and one of the biggest festivals of India where millions of devotees arrive and participate in the Rath Yatra processions and seeks blessings of Lord Jagannath.
Jagannath Rath Yatra festival as per the traditional Oriya calendar begins on the second day of Shukla Paksha of the Hindu lunar month of Ashadha.
This festival will end on July 15 .
