85th birth anniversary of Nepali poet Haribhakta Katwal observed

Kangpoki, July 04 2019:
Nepali Sahitya Parishad, Manipur observed 85th birth anniversary of Nepali poet Haribhakta Katwal as "Katwal Jayanti" on July 2 at the premises of Shri Shri Bishnu Panchayan Mandir Adhikari Bhawan, Charhajare.
Born in Dibrugarh, Assam, Haribhakta was a celebrated poet.
His songs are popular, said a statement of Nepali Sahitya Parishad today.
Retired lecturer Durga Sharma, NSPM president Bhawani Adhikari attended the event as chief guest and president repetitively.

Students recited poems of Haribhakta to mark the celebration, said NSPM.
Dr Tankanath Khatiwoda and Ghanashyam Koirala spoke about literature and life of the poet.
Other poets also read poems at the event.
The NSPM is also observing the birth anniversary of Nepali poet Bhanu Bhakta Acharya on July 14, it said and appealed Nepali population to observe the same in their respective places.
