CNPO demands DTO at Chandel

Chandel, November 29 2019:
Despite it being an Aspirational District, Chandel is behind in almost every sectors, claimed Chandel Naga People's Organisation (CNPO) today.
Speaking to media persons at its office, CNPO president Paulhring Lunghu said that the district is behind in the education, connectivity and other sectors.
The district lacks District Transport Office and there is no improvement in road connectivity and the National Highway is in pathetic condition.
Dust from the road is a major health hazard for the people in the district.

Chandel has a shortest route to Moreh but, it is being avoided by the Government.
Japhou Bazar - Larong - T Minou road is in worst condition, he said.
People in the district are facing immense difficulties in matters related to transport, he said appealing the Government to establish a DTO in the district at the earliest.
As HSLC Examination is nearing, he said that strict actions should be taken up by the Board and authority concerned to conduct the examination free and fair.
All Government offices in the district should perform at their best for development in the region and Head of Departments concerned should pay extra attention to the functioning their offices, he said.
There should be no political influence hindering the functioning of the departments.
CNPO, during drives found many of the offices not functioning properly, he claimed.
The CNPO president also urged the Government to be practical about the "Go to Hill" and convert the promises to the hill people into actions.
CNPO general secretary Huten Alexander, vice-president Wilson, speaker NL Kono and Naga Students' Union Chandel (NSUC) members were present during the press meet.
