Laparoscopic surgery done at CCpur Hospital: In milestone feat, Laparoscopic Surgery was successfully conducted on a boy at the District Hospital here for the first time ever.
A decade may have already elapsed when the state first witnesses such an operation, but the operation conducted yesterday was the first of its kind in the state run hospitals.
Persistent efforts made by the doctors and the people as well in developing the crucial hospital has marked several equipments installed at the hospital in recent years, though with a snail pace.
The district hospital here records the second highest number of surgical operation conducted in any government run hospitals, surpassing even the repute JN Hospital.
But, on many occasion the hospital has run out of oxygen even to perform emergency operations apparently due to the lack of interest by the government.
Even on this day, though the hospital witnesses such a landmark development, it is worth mentioning that the operation was conducted in an outdated and very congested Operation Theatre its only theatre.
Practically, the hospital has gone hi-tech with surgeons of all departments Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, ENT and Eye taking their turn in exploiting the theatre.
