Imphal, February 24 2012:
The Zeliangrong Students' Union, Manipur (ZSUM) has urged the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BSEM) for taking up necessary action against Ramananda Singh, OC and Sharat Singh, ASO of Longmai (Noney) Private Centre, Tamenglong District for allegedly encouraging students to use unfair means in the ongoing HSLC and HSSLC exams at the centre.
A statement issued by the Education Secretary of ZSUM, Nk Alunbou Newmai pointed out that despite a resolution adopted during the joint meeting of the students' body with OC, ASO and invigilators of the centre that no unfair means should be used in the exam centre, the OC and ASO have given free hand to students by allowing mass copying during the exam.
The students' body also appealed the general public and the authority concerned to extend cooperation in eradicating malpractice in exam in order to bring quality education.
It further warned that ZSUM would not remain a silent spectator in case the authority concerned fails to take up any immediate action against the two officials.
