Mega-Speciality cum dental camp underway at Sajik Tampak

A two-day multi-specialty cum dental camp organised by 35 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 26 Sector AR began today at Sajik Tampak in Chakpikarong sub division of Chandel district.
The camp is being organised with an aim to provide advanced medical health care to the people of Sajik Tampak.
The camp was inaugurated by Brig Upendra Dwivedi, Commander, 26 Sector AR.
Various specialists and laboratory facilities like blood sugar, haemoglobin, ECG and urine testing are being provided to the villagers in the camp.
A fully equipped mobile dental van along with a dental officer was also arranged as part of the camp.
In addition to the medical staff of AR, eminent civilian specialists, in the fields of medicine, gynaecology and pediatrics from Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal participated in the camp.
The state medical department also extended its cooperation by sending doctors and paramedical staff.
More than 2000 local patients of Sajik Tampak are expected to be benefited from the camp, who, otherwise, would not have been able to afford such specialised treatments.
Around 165 children were also vaccinated as per the National Vaccination Schedule on the first day of the camp.
Speaking on the occasion, Commander 26 Sector AR commended the locals for their cooperation in ensuring peace in the valley and urged them to make further efforts for development of the area.
Expressing gratitude to the civilian participants, especially the Chief Medical Officer of Chandel district and the doctors of RIMS who are taking part in the camp, the Commander said that the camp will exemplify the spirit of cooperation which would ensure that Chandel district in particular and Manipur state as a whole benefits in the times to come.
Sajik Tampak is a remote valley located in the Indo-Myanmar border area and the people are dependent on the PHC at Sugnu which is located more than 30 km away from Sajik Tampak.
