On the occasion, N Madunimai Singh said that Chandel District shared a porous border with the neighbouring country which makes it very convenient for the child trafficker to conduct their illegal activities.
He cited that Moreh and Pallel had seen many cases of child trafficking and most of the trafficking is done using employment and other opportunities as a means.
Though the Police are trying to find the root causes of such issue, other departments and the stakeholders also need to co-operate by spreading awareness among the people to effectively prevent such activities.
Kh Jitendra Singh said that Chandel and Moreh area have become the transit point for child trafficking.
Saying that rescuing 179 Nepali girls from Moreh in onetime is the highest till date, he urged the gathering to inform to the commission when any children are vulnerable to such activities.
