Imphal, December 20 2019: Kh Krishnananda netted a brace to help TRAU FC ease to a 3-0 win against JSYC, Kangpokpi at Mapal Kangjeibung today and make themselves to pre-quarter finals of the 62nd Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE, Memorial Football Tournament, 2019 being organised by All Manipur Football Association.

It was a lopsided affair as the I -League side dominated the game right from the beginning and kept the JSYC defense busy by chalking out a series of runs that was characterised by crisp passing and good understanding.

JSYC also made a cautious start and managed to keep themselves safe for a while before TRAU took a step ahead when Kh Krishnananda found the back of the net in the 17th minute tapping in a fine ball set up by his team mate Khwetelhi Thopi.

Relentless TRAU were then in drivers seat when Kh Krishnananda headed home in the 44th minute connecting a free kick taken by Kh Netrajit.

After dominating the first half with a 2-0 lead, TRAU took their feet off the saddle for a while after the restart until Khwetelhi Thopi who received a fine pass from Ng Naocha raced deep into JSYC box to hit the decisive goal in the 55th minute.

Earlier the day, FC Lamjao saw off DM RAO, Sekmai by 5-4 goals via penalty shoot-out after a 1-1 draw during regulation time.

DM RAO rode on H Gungoon's goal in the 32nd minute to lead the first half 1-0 but L Kishan's strike in the late 78th minute put FC Lamjao on level terms.

As the two sides were unable to break the deadlock till the regulation time, the game was stretched to penalty shoot out wherein FC Lamjao emerged on top with 4-3 advantage and earned a 5-4 win.

T Premchand, L Kishan, L Borish and Th Yaiphaba were on target for the winning side in the shoot-out while unlucky DM RAO fetched the three goals through Sh Bijen, T Romeo and L Jiban Singh.
