Dr M Nara said that the people of the State should never forget the first ever State Assembly of Manipur .
No other State in India could do it at that time and it shows the political awareness of Manipur, he added .
He explained that the election for the Assembly was held in two phases, in June and July that year.
Jananeta Irabot also contested and won in that election.
Unfortunately, he could not be a part of the Assembly when it was convened because of the incident at Pungdombam .
