Awareness programme, cycle rally held

In connection with the observation of 32nd National Road Safety Month 2021, on the theme "Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha'', a 3 day awareness programme on various road safety measures was held today at Longmai Bazar Community Hall, under the Motto 'One Driver, One Driving Licence'.
The awareness programme was jointly organised by Leirik Vocational Skills & Entrepreneurship Training Centre (LVTC) Khumbong I/W Manipur, CMO Noney, Longmai Bazar Board and Longmai Bazar Youth Club.
The programme was attended by Namlalung Gangmei, MCS, SDO Longmai (Noney), Dr Edwin Golmei, CMO Noney, Namsadai Piter MPS, Additional SP Noney and Gailung Gangmei as the presidium members.

The resource persons attending the programme highlighted the various road safety norms and traffic rules to be followed while riding a vehicle.
Dr Edwin, CMO Noney stated that the medical fitness certificate will be issued only after careful examination of the applicant.
I Gandhajit Singh, Secretary LVTC mentioned that the LVTC Khumbong in collaboration with CSOs of Noney is conducting a drive to give the opportunity to the people of Noney to apply for their driving license.
108 persons have applied for the driving license from Longmai area today.
The drive was assisted by LVTC Khumbong Executive members and Longmai Bazar Youth Club members.
Later, a free medical fitness camp was also organised by the PHC staff.
Similarly, as a part of the Road Safety Month, a cycle rally organised by the Bishnupur district police and Transporters Driver Council, was flagged off by District Transport Officer, Hemochandra Irengbam from Keinou Thongkha to Bishnupur Bazaar, today.
The rally was participated by Bishnupur Municipal Council Chairperson, L Maniyaima; SP Bishnupur, Priyadarshini Laishram; Additional SP (LO), Luikham Lanmiyo; Additional SP (Ops), O Wangkhomba; District police personnel; Transporters Driver Council secretary, L Radhamohon; Council officials and staff of Heikak Water service.
Placards with the slogans, 'Respert the road, don't drink and drive', 'Accident brings tears, safety brings cheers', 'Don't be a hero, you will be a zero', 'Safety first, stop, look, listen then cross', 'Always follow road safety rules', etc were raised during the rally.
